bad blogger

sorry, friends. we have just been so stinkin' busy!

Last week was full - I posted on Monday while Nicholas was working late, then Tuesday night I had Bunko with the girls, Nicholas' aunt and uncle - Mike and Maria - came up from Miami to visit on Wednesday, we went to the DMB concert Wednesday night with a fun group of family and friends {where I smelled the odor of lots of hippies/college kids smoking A LOT of pot. calee and I were a little horrified. i said more than a few prayers for mills and his future taste in girls as i watched lots of pretty girls in front of us bend over and take huge puffs of this big ole pipe kinda thing. WHAT?!?!? don't they know that is ILLEGAL? HELLO?!?!?!?}
But the concert was GREAT - it was my 4th Dave concert and he didn't disappoint! Oh, and I ran into Anne, too {great to see ya, girlfriend}! :)
On Thursday, Mills and I took Mike and Maria around for a tour of Charleston. We met Nicholas at Hominy Grill for lunch, then walked around downtown all afternoon (more pics to come from that later). It was their first time...can you believe??? The five of us had dinner at Cypress Thursday night, and as usual, it was wonderful...one of our best experiences there, actually!
Too bad we didn't get a really good shot, but it was late, we were tired, and there were lots of people walking by...and a baby that was up way past his bedtime!
They headed out on Friday morning, Nicholas worked late, then we headed to Dillon on Saturday morning for an engagement dinner at the Jacobs' house for Adam and Kelley Saturday night. I'm stuffed just thinking about all of the food I have consumed in the past couple of days! It was an intimate little group and it was fun to celebrate the newly-engaged couple! PLUS, Adam's mom is one of the best cooks EVER, and the meal was absolutely out.of.this.world. No, seriously. A seven-layer salad, homemade rolls w/ fresh rosemary and sea salt, amazing cheesy potatoes, the most delicious green bean casserole you have ever had in your life (like, no canned soup or beans used here, friends...crispy beans with fresh mushrooms and who knows what other wonderfulness), beef tenderloin, and a to-die-for strawberry shortcake.  She doesn't mess around. Luckily she is a kind recipe-sharer so I will pass the wealth along when I receive it. holy moly deliciousness.
Now that I have spent an entire paragraph talking about food, I digress...
In addition to the busy week, our dryer's heating element went out - which meant hauling laundry to our VERY DEAR neighbors' house for multiple drying loads - and Mills' knocked my cup of coffee over on my cell phone (I know, I should know about those quick little hands of his by now), and it was D.O.N.E.  Unfortunately my phone insurance (which is a great investment for us b/c we've used it more than a few times) doesn't cover water - or coffee - damage, so I was going to have to pay for a new blackberry {which I've had forever and have been completely loyal to up until this point} AND go another day sans cellular...ugh. I was eligible for an upgrade, so I bit the bullet.
I give you my newest little friend, the Droid Pro. And I'm loving it.
Nicholas has the Droid X and is obsessed, but I'm partial to the "real" keypad like that of my former blackberry...so here you go, the best of both worlds.
Seriously, why did I hold out for so long?!?

Mills loved getting to play with his cousins over the weekend, and we'll be on the move again later this week for the Thanksgiving holiday!
"follow the leader!"
I pinky promise to post every day between now and then.
fo' real. :)
