Mills' Baptism

Our sweet baby boy was baptized yesterday in the church his Daddy grew up in.  We had such a wonderful weekend celebration with our family and friends, and we really appreciate everyone being there with us for such a special event. I have soooo many pictures to catch up on (I took over 200 during the weekend), but for today I figured I would just focus on Sunday's celebration.

The little man of the day, getting ready and being silly...
Sweet Will hanging out with Mills!
Getting my little love dove dressed...
"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.  Before you were born, I set you apart…" Jeremiah 1:5
"I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him." 1 Samuel 1:27
"Sons are a heritage from the Lord; children a reward from Him." Psalm 127:3
"Every good and perfect gift is from above." James 1:17
"Let the little children come unto Me." Mark 10:14

"May the Lord give his angels charge over you, to guide you in all your ways." Psalm 91:11
"Train up your child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
Before the service...(yes, we were at church early for once, haha)
During the Baptism...
"And He took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them." -Mark 10:16
And the the pastor introduced him to the congregation as he walked around with him.
After such a big occasion, Mills was exhausted...he fell asleep on his Daddy's shoulder for the rest of the service!
It was neat because so many people came up and talked to us who watched Nicholas grow up...almost from as young as Mills is!
Sweet Cousin Gray was excited to be there for Mills! :)

He finally woke up when we went outside.

And somehow we managed to get a picture with the whole family...with everyone's eyes open - a miracle! :)
Liz drove all the way up from Charleston just for the day to be there for us - thank you SO much, Liz - it meant so much!
And we loved having the Sowards there! (By the way they just found out today that baby #2 is a GIRL!!!)
Love my college roomie and those two beautiful boys!
And we were so glad to have the Schonfelds there, too! We're blessed with wonderful friends!
This picture was just too funny not to post:
And we had a little cousin photo sesh towards the end of the party...
Two CUTE boys!
Everything was going well...
until sweet little Gray found Mills' shoe...
and my little Johnny Drama was being...well...dramatic.
Gray was on a misson..."must...get...shoe...in...mouth..."
"HELP!!!!" cries Johnny Drama.
oh, no!
And thus, the end of the photo shoot.
"It wasn't me!" says Gray, flashing his baby blues. :)

We had SUCH a busy day that an afternoon nap was most certainly in order...on Dad...and he ate.it.up.
What a special day this was to us!
We are so thankful for the sacrament of Baptism, the new life that Christ gives, and the precious responsibility he has given us to be Mills' parents and raise him up in the house of the Lord.
