If you're looking to take in about 1,000 calories in a sitting...

{or hopefully more like two or three sittings...}
...Then pick up some of this stuff at your local grocery store.  Holy mother, it's like an explosion of deliciousness in your mouth.  You won't regret it.
That's all.

BIG news!

Sorry for the lack of posting - we were enjoying the amazing, end-of-summer weather last week at the beach, and it was perfection!

So if you didn't catch the news via facebook, or word of mouth, you may not know...
{suspense}
...that Mills is going to be a BIG BROTHER!!!
Can you sense the excitement???
{he doesn't know what he's in for, does he?}  :)

I'm 14 weeks along, and we're super excited for our on-the-way addition!

{Physical} Labor Day

After getting back from Chicago Sunday night, we grilled out with the fam {and my mom and Phil stayed the night after spoiling keeping Mills for 4 nights}, and then my boys worked in the yard all.day.long (mainly Nicholas & Pappy, but Mills helped, as you can see...)
 No, we don't have child labor laws here in SC...  ;)
Mills' favorite thing right now...and we're the only family without a "ga caht" currently...we've gotta work on that.

Here's the "before" of the bed they did {this was before we lived here, so ignore the junk}...it was full of dead bushes and random other crap that had accumulated...

And the "After"...
 {so fresh, the tags were still on the bushes...ha}  It's kind of a weird-shaped bed, but it's too late to change the size and lay a little sod, so we'll save that for the spring...
 {you'll notice from the empty planters that some of my flowers did not successfully make the move from Charleston}
A much prettier site from the back porch, that's for sure! :)

Monday night we had a last-minute, thrown-together party for some college football, and it was so much fun {minus the fact that my Miami lost, poor hubby}.
 Alto being silly, per the usual.
Everyone brought appetizers...it wasn't cute and festive, but it WAS fabulous and delicious! {probably snapping a pic after everyone had chowed down wasn't ideal} Pizza dip, buffalo chicken dip, chocolate chip cheesecake ball (your recipe, Liz!!!), brownies, chicken fingers, hummus, homemade black bean/corn salsa and chips...yum!
Anna and Kelly
football watchers...
And because I've been so bad at taking pictures recently, Nicholas and I took a self-timed shot after everyone had left...hence the grossocity {yeah, I made that up} of myself and lack of makeup/much-needed lip color...but who's judging, right???
:)
It was a fun, long weekend!

Nice, long weekend...

I met my parents with Mills last Wednesday, and on Thursday morning Nicholas and I flew up to Chicago for our friends' - Ellis and Josh - wedding weekend.  We stayed at Ellis' house in Elgin on Thursday night, and enjoyed visiting with all of their friends and family.  Her family was SO laid back it was unbelievable!  Her parents even had thirty people over for dinner that night and stayed at their neighbors' house so that many of us could sleep at their house...the night before a whole weekend of wedding festivities for their oldest and first-to-be-married daughter - wow, impressive! :)
On Friday we headed to Geneva (all of these towns are suburbs of Chicago) to check into the hotel:
 We stayed at the Herrington Inn & Spa, and it was great!
 Beautiful views of the Fox River...
{our room}
and fireplaces in every room...ahhh!
And, of course, my favorite part...the milk and cookies turndown service every night.  Yes, please!
The guys played golf on Friday while we had the bridal luncheon and got all situated at the hotel.  Friday night, of course, was the rehearsal dinner, then I did a little shopping on Saturday while the guys watched football, and got to meet up with Kathy (who flew in EARLY Saturday am)!!! :)  Geneva had really cute little shops, and a got a top or two, and Kathy and I got to hit up Anthropologie, too!
Nicholas had said I could have a "spa day" at the hotel, but instead TB was having a Labor Day sale so I decided to trade in my spa day for the boots I've been lusting after...
{They were sold out online in my size, but after calling customer service there was one store in the US left with my size, so I had to call the Dallas store and am looking forward to a shipment from them at some point this week}
I mean, a spa day would be nice - and my back may feel a little better right now - but instead my feet will enjoy these babies for months/years to come... :)

Unfortunately I didn't get one single picture with actual people in it from the weekend {downside of having a nice, but big, camera...and not switching to your little old digital one for special occasions...my lip liner and gloss can fit in Nicholas' pocket. My camera cannot.}
I did, however, find this one of Kath and I on facebook (thanks to Allison). It's tiny; I don't know why.
And what would this post be without a shot of the happy bride and groom?!?  Congrats, Ellis and Josh!!!
