Sorry, friends...

No blog reading or posting in a week...sad. We were out of town - Aiken, Columbia, Dillon - just got in yesterday, and I just got in from Bible study tonight and I'm exhausted!! (whew, talk about a run-on sentence!)
Should be back with a recap manana! Until then I'll just leave you with this sweet face:
Oh, and in case you need a mid-week laugh:
...from a sweet little guy that would never get into any trouble...
ha!

"God made dirt, and dirt don't hurt"

Isn't that what they say?
Well what about potting soil??? :)
Mommy runs an errand for a few minutes, and this is what she comes home to...evidently Daddy didn't read Mommy's blog post yesterday. :)
While Daddy was beating every school in the NCAA in football (Playstation, of course), Millsy was snacking on potting soil from a delicious indoor plant. Yum!
I'm sure that will make an appearance in the diaper tomorrow.
HA! :)

Turn your attention for two seconds...

(to pee)...and look what happens!
little Curious George himself!
In other news, this shrimp creole we had for dinner was yummy - you should give it a try!
And in a rather "picture dump" manner of the last week...here are a few more things we've been up to...
Lunch with Sloan!
Man, we had missed her!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, this reminds me...about ten people have told me in the last week that they read our blog daily (Sloan included, yay!) - please follow along or comment so we know you're out there. I blog to document our little adventures through life, but I absolutely LOVE to hear of friends and family that are out there reading along! :)
Sloan MADE me get in a picture...don't you love rocking workout clothes when you haven't worked out??? Yuck! How about a shower, momma!?! :)
And last Wednesday night my SISTER(in-lawlove) got ENGAGED!!!
They came by during Bible study so I could see their beautiful faces!!! (and that gorgeous ring!!!)
Typical newly-engaged (aka "check out my ring") shot!
Close-up of the beauty! Yay Adam and Kelley - we're so excited for ya'll! :)
And then on Sunday Mills and I joined the Schonfelds at church for Callahan's baby dedication (Nicholas was working but wishes he could have been there)!!
The whole Still/Schonfeld crew!
Brunch at Charleston Cafe afterwards!
Callahan and her Aunt Katie!!
And tonight, I'm enjoying a glass of vino (and finishing off my bag of dark chocolate covered raisins from Fall for Greenville, Mom! Yum!) with my hubs...who has A DAY OFF TOMORROW! WooHoo!
CHEERS!

Monday, Monday

Man, I sure don't miss that Monday work week dread! :)  I have no Monday complaints here - especially since Nicholas works weekends this month (although that's not fun) - Mondays don't even feel like Mondays
We had a nice little day catching up around the house and running some errands and grocery shopping. I actually really like grocery shopping with Mills because he likes to look around at everyone, and I have someone to talk to the whole time!! :)  I tell him everything we've gotta get and what we're going to make. The only problem is when he tries to eat my grocery list...then I have to read between the drops of drool. :) Another plus? He's a kid, so we get a free cookie from the bakery...and momma gets to enjoy it (sorry little buddy)! :)
Our menu plan for the week:
Monday - Chicken with Lemon-Leek Linguine (from Cooking Light)
It was sooo good! In case you've never used any recipes with leeks before (like me)...give it a try!
(my little chopped leek)
I'm definitely on the lookout for more recipes with this ingredient (which I've skipped over before, ha)!
The finished product was delish!
Tuesday - Shrimp Creole (Paula Deen recipe)
Wednesday - Cider-Glazed Chicken with Browned Butter-Pecan Rice (Cooking Light)
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Possible switch with Wednesday (depending on plans with friends) or either out to dinner!
I'm excited about trying some new recipes this week!
After dinner, somebody was very interested in what Daddy was having for dessert...
oooooh, don't tell momma! ;)
It's okay, just a bite or two! :)
Looks like we have a fellow dessert lover on our hands! Uh-oh!
"Who, me???"

Lil' Pumpkin!

Sorry for the lack of blogging action last week - I had Bible study at my house on Wednesday night (and the baking that went along with it...I made these pumpkin squares and easy halloween cookies), lunch with Sloan (pic to come later!), Nicholas had a conference in HHI, Shrimp and Grits sample sale, and we had family in town from Friday afternoon until today! Whew, I'm exhausted just typing it all! :)
Last week we also had a play date at the pumpkin patch on John's Island! Check out these two lil' pumpkins!
Mills and his friend, Jameson
Jameson's face makes me laugh in this last one - that's a serious look! :)
my precious little pumpkin!
And yes, I do actually have a cuter, more appropriate pumpkin patch outfit for him, but it's way too big...I've gotta get it taken up so he can be festive...guess that's just an excuse for another pumpkin patch trip! :)
Cute siblings Frances and Charles searching for their pumpkins!
Hayride!!!
little doodlebug!
Ready for his first hayride!
How exciting!
Jameson showing his buddy some love!
"What is this hay stuff anyway?"
"I think I like it..."
"Can I eat it???"
We even got to stop and (let the big kids) feed the cows!
me and the little guy
and again!
Mills seemed to have a great time!
And of course it's always fun to get together with our friends!!!
Excited for another week ahead with this sweet face!
Hope your weekend was wonderful!
