What the heck!?!

Well I had every intention of blogging away about our fabulous weekend this evening...but somehow all of the pictures I transferred from my mom's camera to my computer have vanished.  No, seriously!!! Before they left yesterday we looked at them, I cropped and rotated them, etc...and now, after installing the recommended updates to the computer and restarting, they are GONE. They were here an hour ago, gone now! All the praises I've been singing about you, little MacBook of mine, and you go and do something like this...
Oh well, good thing I happened to snap a few pics of this little guy today after I got in from work. I hope you won't be too upset with these as a substitute until I figure out what the heck is going on!!!
I swear I could absolutely eat.him.up.
haha, now what kind of face is that?!?
CHEESE!!! :)

**Update: I FOUND the "lost" pictures..hehe..they were just magically renamed and dated, ah ha! I suppose it's easy to overlook a weekend of pictures amidst THOUSANDS! I'll try to post them in the next couple of days, mom! :)**

Father's Day FUN!!!

What a great day we've had! :)
Since it is Father's Day, I wanted to post a picture of MY sweet daddy.
For the 13 years I had him here on earth, he was the most loving, kindhearted, and just plain silly/fun dad.
Since he died, Father's Day has always been kind of a sad holiday for me, so this year it was exciting to have something FUN to look forward to, and to start new traditions celebrating the newest, and most wonderful, DAD around! :)
We kicked it off by sleeping in, and some morning cuddle time with the whole fam!
Lovin' on Harley Girl...
Happy First Father's Day, Daddy!

Then we went to church, had lunch at McAlister's Deli, and grabbed some of these:
Since it was, after all, Father's Day (wink, wink)
LOVE!
Sweetest daddy and sweetest boy!
Then mommy was being silly doing the "daddy dance" around the house with Mills, hehe!
{harley joined in, too}
my little love bug
We enjoyed hanging around the house all afternoon and just talking/being lazy! Before dinner, Mills changed into his official first Father's Day getup
Nicholas got to choose "anything" to do for dinner, and he wanted me to cook "some sort of fish." So we had tilapia w/ pasta and squash.  We had dinner at our little pub table and Mills was the centerpiece, in his Bumbo. We figured since he was technically the reason for the celebration, it was only fitting!
Mills and I got Daddy a book (that came highly reviewed and recommended) about raising little boys to be Godly gentlemen (not that he'll have time to read it until after residency, but at some point!), some baby scrubs so the little guy can dress up just like daddy, and a compact-sized Doctor's Bible so that Nicholas can carry it in his coat pocket at work, and have it handy when he has a few spare moments or wants to pray with patients.

And before bed, we had a little fun with Daddy, too! We thought he was done (of course, this always happens) so we turned of the camera, but he ended up laughing hard core for about 5 more minutes. But I didn't want to stop playing and start filming! :)

I am so thankful to have such a wonderful husband, and amazing father to Mills.  He works so hard to take care of us, he never complains about anything, and he shows us he loves us each and every day. I really and truly hope Mills grows up to be just like him (okay, maybe he'll throw his dirty clothes in the hamper, but other than that...just like him)! :) Haha!
It's crazy to think that almost 6 months ago Nicholas was the guy who was content not to hold other people's babies (we're talking, GOOD FRIENDS here, ha), and now he scoops up babies like it's nothing, offers to give them bottles, plays with them - you name it! Although he had delivered babies before (scary.), that was about it, and he was awesome with kids a little bit older, but not comfortable with little tiny ones. My, how things change! :) Now he's a diaper-changing, bottle-feeding, baby-tickling MACHINE! :) I just love him!
PS - Mills would also like to give a (Grand)Father's Day shout out to Pappy and Philly!
Hope all of you had a wonderful day celebrating the dads in your life!

Big Week!

It's been a crazy but exciting week around here! I tell ya, it's sometimes feast or famine with this whole blogging thing...somedays I'm so crazy busy with work and don't have much to say, and then others I have SO much to catch up on and an insane picture overload...today is the latter of those two.  :)

This week has been really hard to balance the whole career/family thing. I feel like I've been doing administrative stuff from the time I walk in the door until at least 7:00, PLUS baby stuff (which I love, of course), but it's been really overwhelming. I only cooked dinner ONE night this week (but does it count that one night Nicholas was on call, and two of the others we were out to dinner with great friends?!?)! And then Nicholas told me he was out of scrubs this morning...oops, LAUNDRY!!! I did one load of baby clothes and one load of towels earlier in the week...that counts for something too, right? :) And sadly, next week is not gonna be any easier...call nights, meetings in Columbia, and dinner programs - ahhhh! BUT, let's get on to the fun stuff - overall, this was a great week!

Wednesday was fellowship match day for many of our dear friends!!! Richard and Katie took an early GI (gastroenterology) offer in Memphis, so they were technically celebrating, too! :)  AND, Robert and Calee found out, at noon, via email, at the Charleston Place...that they're staying here for CARDIOLOGY!!! WooHOO!!!!  I was ecstatic! I came home during lunch and Katie and I waited on their news together.  Mills was up in his room napping, and I screamed so loud when I heard the news that I could see him moving around on the monitor, haha! :)  We'll still be SC neighbors for another 4+ years! I am THRILLED!!!  It was SUPER competitive, and they were prepared to go all over the country, but got their first choice (AND MINE...not that that matters...well, kind of...)! :) We were very grateful that Aunt Kelley came to babysit Mills so we could celebrate with our wonderful friends. Luckily, Mills was asleep 10 minutes after we left!
Love these girls!
Enjoying the beautiful Charleston scenery!
Man, we live in a gorgeous city!
The future cardiologist himself!
And with his beautiful wife!
Me and my love!
Cheers!
And then...
the party escalated...
Bottles of Dom were being popped...
because this is how we roll.
Uh-oh, pregnant girl drinkin' some Dom...just kidding! ;)
bahahahahah!
Drinking out of the bottle...classy.
Ladies and gentlemen, doesn't this make you feel very confident in your physicians??? :)
(I should add that they are really, truly, VERY good at what they do!)
Another cards fellow!
Yoe love!!!
Champagne??? Yes, please!
Then...after dropping her $75 glass of champagne...
Haha, that's okay...fill her up again, hubby! :)
Did I mention that I LOVE her?!?
Almost ready for a group shot!!!
Too bad it was blurry! :( (Can't wait til I have my Nikon back!)
The after-party/silly shot...
Sadly, that idea was not discussed prior to the photo by Nicholas and Robert...great dirty minds think alike?!? :)
And then Richard just felt left out...
Sweet preggo shot!
Now this, my friends, is brotherly love...
I mean look at the excitement on his face!!! They really love each other. I may be a little jealous.
(Calee, should we be worried???) :)
Then Katie took us Nicholas and I home, and everyone else went back out... impressive, guys, I must say. 12:30 is officially LATE for us...especially on a "school night!" :)
Calee is a professional photographer even in the back seat, in case you were wondering...
And we got to come home to the sweetest thing in the whole wide world...our sweet baby boy. I had to get a pic.
(thankfully it didn't wake him!)
And by the time I got ready for bed, space was limited...
Yes, we still love our four-legged firstborn...we let her sleep in that very spot (like old times) Wednesday night.
On Thursday night, Anna and Will came in town and we headed out to dinner with Adam and Kelly, too!
sister & brother!
the gals (and little man)
Playing with Millsy
And a group shot finale!
Have a great weekend! We're excited to have a little down time with this adorable dude,
and celebrate Nicholas' first Father's Day! Xoxo!
