Birthdays Galore!

Over the weekend my family came in town and we celebrated my grandmother's 76th birthday!
Nicholas and I lighting the candles...
MaMa blowing them out! :)
I think she's a pretty cute 76-year-old! :)
Mom and MaMa!
We ate dinner Friday night at Triangle, shopped around and lunched at Long Point Grille on Saturday, and watched football and had subs Saturday night. Saturday night was when our air conditioner went out...ahh!! Sunday Nicholas and Phil spent a good part of the morning trying to figure out if the thermostat was the problem, which it wasn't, so we endured the heat until Monday morning when someone came out to fix it...$250+ later, we were thankful to have a cool house!
Good thing you can't see the sweat in these pics, ha!
Birthday girl in the middle!
We had such a great weekend and were sad to see them leave!! :(

Monday night I tried a new salmon recipe (find my standard fav here), and it was delish! I loosely followed THIS recipe from allrecipes.com, except I used spicy brown mustard instead, and followed a reviewer's suggestion of melting the butter and mixing it with the bread crumbs (btw, I used parmesan bread crumbs b/c it was what I already had) before putting it on the salmon. It made a little crispy topping of goodness:
{before putting it in the oven}
And I broiled it for a few minutes at the end, too. YUM!! It was soooo good! I also did the roasted broccoli "fries" as a side. Again, just spread the broccoli out like so:
then drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with ground pepper and salt (I prefer sea salt), and bake for 25 minutes at 350 - I usually broil the last minute or two.
And voila!
{with couscous}
Din-din was served!
Millsy tried the salmon and really liked it - I gave him four or five bites and he chewed it right up! He also had a little couscous and some asparagus that I pureed. :)
Speaking of eating...I could eat him right up!
He's just too much fun!
He is obsessed with his two footballs right now. He just throws them across the room then goes and "fetches" them, ha! At least it's entertaining to him! Today he was playing with Harley and when she would get the football (we were supervising and telling her it was okay) he was cracking up! He thought it was hilarious! She wasn't as amused, but she played along at least. He literally almost fell over numerous times because it was soooooooooo funny.
Last night's bath before mommy went to bunko:
He's loving his big boy baths. He crawls around and splashes like crazy!
Tomorrow is some VERY special's birthday...my sweet hubby's!! :)  We enjoyed celebrating tonight and will continue on the festivities tomorrow (we're staying in though, because Miami plays and I was told we had to be in front of our TV)! ;)
More to come on that tomorrow. Yay for September babies!

C-L-E-M-S-O-N!

I hate to have to do this post after such a tough loss to Auburn on Saturday...sheesh!
But nonetheless, Mills had a blast at his first football game the weekend before! :)
He was not so sure about crawling on this crunchy grass stuff!
Making a beeline...
for the cooler!
Dear Mills, you are not 21 - stay away from the cooler, mister man. :)
It totally looks like he's wearing a dress here, I'm aware of this. Gammy bought him this precious little outfit that I picked out at a boutique here in Charleston (Vive La Fete has presh little collegiate line). However, I bought it a tad too big, therefore it ballooned over like a little dress and I got lots of "Oh she's so beautiful"'s throughout the day. Ha! Sorry, buddy! Next year we'll have ya in a little mini uniform or something very manly like that! :)
(The good news is that I could use it in the future on a girl or boy, ha!)
Tailgating with mom and dad!
And Gammy and Philly!
Fun w/ Daddy
Probably my favorite pic of the day - "This is SO much fun!"
Stretching out his throwing arm...warming up, you know.
He drops back...
And passes it...TOUCHDOWN Tigers! :)
Inside the game,
he wasn't quite sure what to think! There was so much going on and he just stared and stared at everything and everyone around him.
My little future Clemson alum! :)
He got to see the "Most Exciting 25 Seconds in College Football!!!"
the Tigers running down the hill!
There was WAY too much going on to get him to look at the camera!
My mom and I took Mills into the game, while Nicholas and Phil went to the Esso Club to watch the Miami game...yes, the games were at the same time, and no, Nicholas was not going to miss Miami vs. Ohio State to see Clemson vs. PC - can you believe it?!?!? ;)
We sat in the stands for the first quarter, then we had to go underneath the stadium b/c it was sooo hot, and somebody wouldn't take his bottle b/c of all the action around him...and this little somebody is not one to miss a meal...I mean, have you SEEN those thighs?? :)
So we found a nice, shady spot and parked it!
Funny enough, there were about ten other kids and parents/grandparents doing the same thing! I had never even noticed that before...although my priorities while attending games and sitting in the sorority block (or standing down on the field) were a little different I suppose...
sweet face
And of course Mills enjoyed a little playtime.
And after all of that action...
this little tiger was out!
Hey, football can be physically {and emotionally} DRAINING...don't we all know that too well!?!
Thankfully we stomped PC, but we'll see what the rest of the season holds in store!
We also had fun getting to visit with the fam over the weekend - Mills was giving lots of kisses out to Miss Peyton, and showing off all of his new tricks! :)  The poor thing came home majorly lacking attention...can you imagine???
{AND my mom did all of our laundry from the week before...just like the college days...gotta love her!} :)
We look forward to lots of football fun with Mills in the years to come!
