Fall for Greenville FUN!

As promised, here are a few ridiculous amount of pictures from our weekend in the upstate!
Mills slept the entire way up on Friday, and we met Gammy and Philly for a late lunch/early dinner followed by some play time at the house and a trip to Target to spoil the babe!
Saturday morning we were ready for some fun at Fall for Greenville!  We've been going since I was little, but it had been a while since I had been!
Peyton and Mills having some fun.
My mom thought it was funny the way I was crouched down eating my spicy tuna roll, so she snapped a pic. :)  From sushi to lobster cigars to filet bites...we tasted it all!
And so did Mills!!! :) Or maybe just sweet potatoes!
Actually he did get to try some pumpkin cheesecake...our traditional Fall for Greenville FAVORITE!!!
He followed suit and was also a big fan!
MaMa, Myra, Peyton, Mom, me, and Mills!
Me, Mom, and Phil with our cheesecake!
After all of the food sampling we walked down to the Reedy River Park to enjoy the beautiful day. Despite its namesake, the event was a little more like summer at 85 degrees...we were roasting!
Mills with Gammy and Philly
love that face.
love that sweet monkey face, too!
He was having a horrible time...can you tell!?!?
Doing his baby model thing...you know how it goes  :)
...hard work really, being this cute, but somebody's gotta do it, right?
..might as well be me! ;)
Mills and Cousin Peytie!
mommy and her boy...just being silly!
Ladies (and gentleman) takin' a load off!
Hey Mills!
He was having fun playing with his great MaMa's watch.
{i do realize that all of these pictures are very similar, but I just couldn't choose!}
sweet little side profile
I could absolutely EAT.HIM.UP in that picture!!! It makes me smile every single time I look at it! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
me and my little buddy again (i get lots of pics of us whenever my mom is around, yay)!
Can you tell that I love him? Maybe just an inseey weensy bit?
While Mills napped we used up the rest of our tickets and cooled down with some fresh-squeezed lemonade - yum.
Peyton and her cookie on a stick!
After Mills woke up we headed to the Mast General Store to get some fun candy, and Mills scored a cowboy hat to go with the boots that Gammy and Philly got him Friday night! :) Because, clearly, a boy needs both!
We also checked out the toy store...clearly somebody was into the TRAINS!!!
Do you see the intense excitement on that sweet little face?!?
"Mommy, I want one..."
I think we may have some trains in our future!
He ended up with a car, two boats for the bathtub, a book, and a cowboy hat. Not too shabby, huh? And after that we headed over to the mall (man I miss a good mall!) and little man got a little more spoiled by his entire family!  They said if we came in town more often, the spoilage would continue...uh-oh, we wouldn't have a closet big enough!!! :)
We SURE do wish we lived closer though! If Nicholas didn't have such a good opportunity awaiting him, we would move up there in a skinny minute - we both agree! It's so beautiful, there is so much to do, and hello - FAMILY!!! It was also fun running into people that you know from way back when! Buuut, we promise to visit as often as we can! We had a wonderful weekend, that's for sure (the only thing missing was Daddy, who was at home working - boo)!!

Quick catch-up and a new 'do!

First off, in case you haven't noticed, we've got a new look here on the blog thanks to Katie at The Polka Dot Pig! We really like it - hope you do, too!
I have got soooooo much to catch up on - we had a WONDERFUL weekend in the upstate at Fall for Greenville and visiting, but I have GOT to post the pictures from last weekend/week today or i'll never get around to it. I promise to get to this past weekend tomorrow!

LAST weekend, we flew up to D.C. for Cameron and Mark's wedding in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
It was Mills' first airplane flight!
Ready to take off!!!
hehe, look at that precious little babe looking like a big boy sitting in between his mom and dad!
He did a great job! I just nursed him during the takeoff so the altitude change wouldn't hurt his little ears (which I thought I would be embarrassed about, but thankfully it was just the two seats per side and I had the window seat, so it was totally private...no one even had a clue. whew!), and he slept pretty much the whole flight both there and back. We randomly booked flights that were right during his usual nap times - note to self: GOOD idea!
Michael and Kevin picked us up at the airport, and we headed to Fredericksburg. We got lunch at a little pub downtown.
Mills listening to Aunt Jesser tell a story to the waiter...pretty entertaining I'm sure! :)
Jennifer, Kevin, and Michael
{by the way I somehow managed not to get a single picture of Nicholas and I all weekend...welcome to motherhood, huh? haha!}
On Saturday we watched the Miami/Clemson game...let's just say it wasn't pretty for us Clemson fans. Clemson played horribly and it was just an ugly game for both teams (Nicholas said so, so I'm allowed to say that)!
It's a good thing I was more focused on this cute face than the game.
Mills cheering...
"Oh come on Tigers, another interception?!?!?"
{i felt the same way, buddy!}
Luckily nap time was during the second half so Mills and I didn't have to watch the end, whew!
Who was cousin Gray cheering for???
His daddy would say the TIGERS...but his momma would say otherwise. ;)
Back at the hotel we had fun with more cousins!
This is Clara, Nicholas' first cousin, Blair's little girl - aka Mills' third cousin I think!
She was so sweet playing with Mills - maybe because she has a new little brother just two months younger than Mills!
You should have seen just how challenging it was to get these four kiddos all together to get a picture with their great-grandmother!
Out of about twenty shots, I have TWO with all four kids in it, evidenced here:
and here:
And with all of the boys...
Mills cracks me up in the one above, haha. Can you believe they're all so close in age? Mills in January, Gray in February, and Miles (middle) in March!
Miles may be the youngest, but he has definitely got the other two guys beat in size! :)
Mills and Gray got to spend lots of time together over the weekend! They even shared babysitters both nights (especially after Mills' first one didn't feed him Friday night, haha, whole other story...)
Hey Gray!
sweet boys
Desitin...yummm!
Mills' nose started getting a little stuffy on Saturday, and really has been that way since (the pediatrician said his ears looked great so nothing really to be concerned about), so even though he has a bit of a snotty nose in this pic (and a fussy face), it ended up being my favorite one. :)
I mean, would you look at those two sweet teeth??? Don't you just want to pick him up and love on him?!? :)
AND, Mills is 40 weeks old today! I don't keep track of every single week, but I had written in on my planner a while back. He has officially been out and about now as long as he was in my belly - crazy to think about, huh?!?  Time goes by so fast! Love that sweet boy!
See y'all tomorrow! :)

Nine months of JOY!

My sweet little booger is NINE months old!!!
Can you believe it?!?
Me either!! :)
My precious, babbling, bundle of joy, what are you up to these days???

-You're a B-U-S-Y boy! Crawling around and pulling up on things nonstop. You're so happy and cheerful!
-You're still addicted to your mommy, ha! :) The pediatrician said today that separation anxiety typically peaks around this age...I actually think you've already peaked and may actually be getting better with it (knock on wood)! I'm fine with it though. Sometimes you just want your momma and that's normal and okay. :)  You've started really thinking your Daddy is funny, too! Just the other day he said, "I think he's starting to like me!!" Now of course we both know you love him to pieces, but you're really starting to pay him more attention and show more of a reaction when he comes and goes. And let's face it, Daddy really judges how much you "like" him by how much and often he can make you laugh...and you're doing A LOT of that lately.
-Speaking of laughing, you are giggling soooo much at me during the day...and I LOVE it! You used to just laugh when you were tickled, but now you laugh at things I say, funny things I do, and at sister Harley! She absolutely cracks you up. You're favorite thing to do is when we hold you over her back and pretend to give you a "Harley horsey ride." You laugh nonstop! :)
-You're eating all kinds of fruits and veggies, and have had some chicken, too. I'm to get some red meat in that little diet of yours sometime soon (pediatrician said it's great for iron and zinc).  You're a GOOD eater!
-Still nursing or having a bottle five times a day, and eating three meals. You're still a fabulous sleeper - 12-13 hours a night with two naps per day. You even slept well in a pack and play over the weekend - AND it was your first time in a hotel room!
-You took your first plane ride over the weekend, too - to Washington D.C. You behaved wonderfully and we were soooo thankful!
-You love bath time - as a matter of fact, you crawl to the bathtub multiple times a day and try to crawl in!
-You really enjoy playing with a wide variety of your toys (and a few things that aren't toys...spatula, rubbermaid container, etc).  You've started picking one toy at a time and carrying it around with you all day! At night you sleep with your sleep sheep, giraffe, lion, blankie, and puppy dog (which you LOVE).
(these pics were from last night, before bed)

And today, we went to the official nine month check-up!
waiting room fun
gotta love the self-timer! :)
You weighed in at 19 lbs, 4oz (29th percentile), measured 27.25 inches long (18th percentile) and your head circumference was 28 inches (63rd percentile - big brains). :)  It really is amazing to me that your little chunk monk self is only in the 29th percentile in weight, ha!
Oh, and this was my first month staying home with you - man oh man do I love it!! Talk about the most fun and rewarding job I've ever had!
Little man...just LOOK how you've GROWN!!!
(be sure to click on this one so you can see it bigger!)

Millsy, you are the light of our lives and we love you sooooo much!

Stay tuned...

for our sweet boy's NINE month post in the am!
I took the official nine month picture tonight (of course!) :)  but the hubby wanted to hang out (imagine that) instead of me blogging tonight. :)  He's back on a nasty month - boohoo - so we've gotta make the most of our evenings before he goes to bed. And, we have Mills' nine month check-up tomorrow morning, too, so I'll update afterwards! Catch up with ya then (and promise to catch up on all of your blogs, too)! :)
Nighty-night!

Special date

We had safe travels to D.C. and a wonderful weekend in Virginia!  Mills slept surprisingly well both nights and was the perfect little traveler on the plane - thank you, Lord! More details to come on our fun trip tomorrow, but I just wanted to share these few pictures tonight, as today would have been my Daddy's 54th birthday!
It's funny, once you have a child of your own, you really realize just how much your parents love YOU! :)
Just remembering my dad's life today, and all of the smiles, love, and laughter he brought to so many!

And speaking of smiles...I will have a NINE month old little smiley boy tomorrow! Can you believe it?

And we're off...

...to a family wedding this weekend in Virginia!
This will be Mills' first time traveling in an airplane, so please keep our safety {and sanity} in your prayers.  We shall see how this sweet little babe that won't sleep in a pack and play...will do sleeping in a pack and play, in a hotel room, with a babysitter he's never met before (for TWO nights)! Ha, this should be fun...  At least the rehearsal dinner and the wedding/reception are just a short walk away from the hotel, so we can come in earlier if need be. Did I mention to please pray for us?? :)
No, really and truly we are excited to see some of Nicholas' extended family we haven't seen in quite some time...and although we are bummed we won't be at the Miami/Clemson game - our own personal family rivalry (AND Clemson homecoming!!!), we do understand that a wedding is more important.
{kind of}
Totally kidding.
{kind of}
You can bet we'll all have our booties parked in front of the TV for that game at noon though (thank goodness, since it's an evening wedding).
You can also bet we'll all be wearing ORANGE!

Go TIGERS!
