Sooo...Thursday evening when Nicholas got in (from playing golf - he finished up early), he was all excited about going to "bowling night" with a big group of the residents. I, on the other hand, was exhausted. I wanted to eat dinner and lay around and go to bed! But, it was one of those "take one for the team" moments, and I rallied and got myself together.
This place was super sketchy (as most bowling alleys are), so everyone followed suit and came up with some fabulous name choices.
(I didn't get to choose mine b/c I was busy with Mills, so they gave me Nikki - such a normal name - so lame!)

In case you can't see, on our lanes we had Wade, Bambi, Catfish, Buck, Virgil, Wanda, Oscar, Duke, Joline, Earl, Destiny, Candy, and Rusty - what a group! :)
We started playing after 8:00 - Mills' usual bedtime - but hey, what can you do!?! We're totally fine with exceptions in his schedule every now and then, and he is a very adaptive baby! He was a great sport, and we even stayed out til 10:30 (crazzzzzy, I know, haha)! He enjoyed the people watching, being passed around from person to person, and the fact that he got to be held standing up pretty much the whole time (he loves elevation).
Playing with Ashley!
Bowlin' babes, ha!
So I like the fun and fellowship (especially when there's a theme) of bowling, but as far as actual skill and getting into it...bowling's not exactly up my alley (haha, I'm funny).
Clearly, my form is superb pathetic.
However, this guy was a P-R-O...
Would you look at that form?!?
Jonathan's explanation?
"I watched a bowling video on youtube when I was on call at the VA the other night..."
Typical.
But he also drinks wine coolers, so I'm not sure he can be trusted...
Peeps hangin' out...
Mills taking it all in...
Ashley's skills...
And one more family pic!

And Nicholas and I were STARVING afterwards (b/c we didn't have time to eat beforehand), so we ran through Sonic on the way home...I proceeded to order a breakfast burrito combo with a side of french toast sticks, and eat it at 11pm - what the heck?!? We felt like we were pulling a total college move (oh yeah, except for that car seat in the back seat, haha).
Last night we met the Yoes for dinner at Triangle!
It was very low key and fun, and we enjoyed hanging out with sweet friends...and Mills was showing off his "hold my own bottle" skills and his kisses for momma (secretly he was trying to show them how great having a baby is, but don't tell them that).
Right before we left, Nicholas said, "I think Mills just went to the bathroom."
But we figured it would be too messy to change him in the car, so we would wait until we got home.
Ha.
Either way, it would have been bad. I sat in the backseat with him so I could lean him forward in his car seat, because I could feel the poop-a-rising. It wasn't long before I felt the wetness on the straps of his sweet little madras overalls.
oh my.
(stop here if you have a weak stomach or get grossed out easily...consider yourself warned) :)
We were stripping him down as we walked in the door, and it was not a pretty sight.
(But yes, I still felt the need to document it, as it's the first time this has happened!)
Hellooooo, Mr. Poopypants!
But we had to get that onesie off somehow...sorry, bud!

Nicholas and I were actually laughing the whole time...little man got a total body rinse off and wash, followed by a bath, too. We did everything but bleach him.

He didn't seem to be too concerned about it. :)
Nicholas worked this morning, and then we headed out to my Bible study/medical wives pool party. Sadly, I took my camera but got too busy (and too wet!) to take any pictures, but we had a great time! There were TONS of babies so Mills was clearly pumped. :) He had so much fun splashing around in (and trying to drink) the water. It was a beautiful day!
Hope you're enjoying your weekend, too!
