Golf PRO

While we won't be attending the Masters this week in person, we have been tuning in on the TV...and this afternoon we watched our own little golf pro strut his stuff on the course {aka our front lawn}
He looks pretty famous, right?!?
 Who needs the masters?!?  :)
 ...Lessons from the other "pro" {right, babe?}  :)
...walkin' the course...
...dealing with the occasional sandpit gutter...
 ...it's all in day's work, people.  And the posing, too.  Oh, the posing.
Giving love to the fans.
 Don't lose the game face.
 Victory club raise!
Justin puttin' around...

Then we enjoyed a little fun inside...
 Trying to fill Dad's big shoes! :)
 It's really HILARIOUS!!!
Hope your Thursday was this much fun! :)

CRBR continued, fun afternoon, and recipes...

Katie brought her camera over today so I could get the rest of the bridge run pics...
 Such an attractive pic (thanks, Richard!)...snacking on a bagel and talking on the cell to try and find my boys! :)
 precious boy...Nicholas had to wake him up to come to meet me and he was in a daze the whole time!
 Then yesterday afternoon we took advantage of the beautiful weather and had a little neighborhood fun with Katie, Kirksey, Stephanie, and Kate!
 Feeding the turtles and fish in the pond...
Mills was more into eating the bread than throwing it...ha!
cute little family pic
 Mills didn't want to leave the water...he kept trying to go swimming...yuck!
But thankfully the girls had picked up some sidewalk chalk and bubbles!!!
...which quickly caught his attention.
 sweet little blonde curls blowing in the wind...
 Look at Kirksey's cute smile! I kept her today and we had a big time!
 {on a side note, I really love our neighborhood and I'm really gonna miss it once we move...it is such a wonderful place for the kiddos!!!}
Then came the BUBBLES! You should have seen Mills' face right when we blew the first batch! Unfortunately I didn't have Katie's camera out then, but he kept pointing and was really excited.
We had a super fun day, friends!

AND, I've made some delicious dinners this week so far, so I figured I would go ahead and share them! Monday night I made this Mexican Chicken Bake...sooo good!  Now I couldn't find the crescent seamless dough sheets at Publix, so I just got the can of crescent rolls and kept them pieced together - worked like a charm! I also used 3 chicken breasts that I boiled and shredded {instead of the rotisserie chicken} because they were on sale and I think it's just as easy.  This meal was seriously so good that Nicholas begged to eat the leftovers last night instead of burgers at the Heards' house...and this is my husband that before we met did not eat leftovers...what?!?  So easy, so good!

Tonight I made this delicious Sauteed Tilapia with Lemon Caper Pan Sauce - wow!
Again, the tilapia was on sale at Pubix {that's how I roll these days} and this recipe is amazingly healthy and you would never know it to taste it...and I mean that in the best kind of way! I served it with my crispy roasted broccoli {which I've posted before} and it was a hit!
I did, however, make these amazing Key Lime Cheesecake Bars to throw all of that out the window! :)  Moderation, people...moderation! {Right???} Plus I used 1/3 fat cream cheese and added 1/4 cup of flax seeds to the crust mixture to add in some healthy benefits! It's surprisingly not that bad for you.
I didn't take a picture, but you can just imagine...
:)
 Tomorrow we're headed to the Family Circle Cup, but I have PW's Spicy Dr. Pepper Shredded Pork recipe planned for Thursday {except I am modifying it to a crock pot recipe} which we'll eat in soft tacos and then have as sandwiches for leftovers...I'll let you know how they turn out {considering my husband's love affair with dr. pepper - and all things spicy - I'm hoping it'll be a hit}. YUM!

Bridge Run Fun!

My girlfriends and I ran our third bridge run together on Saturday! I'm not gonna lie, I was a little hesitant this year because...well...this momma's out of shape! Yes, I ran it last year with a two-month-old, but I've run maybe five times since then...pathetic, right?!?
But, WE DID IT! :)
The whole gang after the race!
Nicholas worked all night the night before and I wasn't expecting him to be there, but he got off in time to go pick Mills up (I got a babysitter) and meet us at Marion Square. We enjoyed lunch downtown and got to catch up with some great friends {who literally ran into us on the bridge}!! Afterwards I completed my yearly ritual of a hot bath and afternoon nap...ahhh!
I didn't have my camera so thankfully Calee took the ones above and Katie took some, too - so I'll share them when I have them!

Millsy had his 15-month checkup today, so I'll update on that tomorrow {I forgot to get his stats} and I can't wait to share this week's menu with y'all after the week is over...holy cow last night's dinner was delish and I made the dessert for tomorrow night's dinner tonight and it was all I could do not to eat it before popping it in the 'fridge!  Happy Monday, friends!

Baby #2 {not me, not me!}

So I've got a picture or two to catch up on...
 The weekend before last Jennifer & Jess came in town and we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Oak. Can I tell you how amazing it was?!? Followed by dessert at Kaminsky's!  That was my pregnancy staple.
Speaking of pregnancy...
 Mills' Aunt "Jesser" is happily expecting precious baby #2! It's finally facebook official so I figure I have the go-ahead to blog about it now! :)
{who's this monkey trying to escape from the high chair???}

We are THRILLED and I can't wait for my new niece/nephew to arrive this November!
(my guess is niece based on Jennifer's "morning" sickness this time around)
And would you check out this way cute BIG BROTHER?!? I want to kiss his cheeks!

And also speaking of good food, we had a girls' {and boy} dinner at Blossom Tuesday night to discuss baby shower plans for a sweet girlfriend! What a good excuse for another yummy dinner with some best buds, right??? Blossom is home to one of my favorite Charleston desserts, red velvet bread pudding with homemade strawberry cheesecake ice cream! Are you drooling yet???

Tonight we got a babysitter {awesome one, btw} so Nicholas and I could go to a dinner on financial planning for the MUSC residents finishing up...I'll spare you from boredom all of the details there, but we learned a lot.
We are way ready for this rain to go away so we can get out and about! How 'bout you???

One week...

That's how long it's been since I've posted!
I left to go out of town early Thursday afternoon and was gone all weekend long on the Emmaus Walk {a spiritual women's retreat, which was awesome, btw}.  We got back to Dillon late Sunday night, and Nicholas brought Mills up since he was off on Monday. I had never left Mills overnight before, and I had to leave him for THREE nights - and four days - without even being able to call and check on him!!!  :( {cell phones were not allowed on the retreat} Oh my goodness how I missed my boys!!!
Thankfully Mills was in good hands while I was gone...my family came to Charleston last Wednesday and Mills got lots of new toys, clothes, shoes, love, and attention over the weekend! :)
playing with his new golf clubs
...this is the face he made when you tried to put away his clubs!
...or make him pause from play to take a quick picture!  Getting ready to leave and miss my boy like crazy...
Dad got to play, too, when he wasn't working! Teaching Mills how to perfect his swing...
He couldn't choose whether to ride or play...so he chose both! That is talent, ladies and gentlemen.
Cousin Peyton and Mills
kisses from great aunt my-my
just another day on the golf course...
My family took all of these pictures and loaded them on my computer before they left - I'm loving how adorable he looks in these!! :)  Thanks, y'all!  I don't know what I would have done without you!
hehe silly boy!

They went to the park, too!
 Looks like Mills got lots of quality time with PeyPey!
 And he even got an Easter basket and got to practice hiding Easter eggs!
Looks to me like he had a LOT of fun!

The sad thing was when I saw him for the first time Sunday night...he would not have a thing to do with me. He cried when I tried to take him from Nicholas.  When I hugged Nicholas Mills pushed my head off of Nicholas' shoulder...three times. He would barely even LOOK at me!
Talk about heartbreaking...
Luckily I was warned from some veteran mommas that this may happen.
Thankfully by Monday morning he warmed up to me and by Monday afternoon we were BFFs again.
We came back to Charleston late Monday night and have been just trying to catch up in the past day.
{I've noticed a few new followers and some new commenters so I can't wait to catch up with all of you in the next couple of days!}
It's good to be home sweet home! :)
