Grrr...

So I know the winner of the giveaway {via random.org} but my email is being a total hot mess and not letting me send the photo proof from my phone...sooo annoying!

I'll hopefully win the battle with gmail tomorrow and post then. Plus, tonight is my anniversary! Woohoo popping some bubbly! :)

Busy week!

So sorry I've been out of the loop this past week - it was a crazy one!
Early in the week I tried to prepare as much as possible for a baby shower some girlfriends and I were throwing on Saturday morning, because my in-laws came in town Thursday morning. My sister-in-law, Kelley, graduated from nursing school, so we had the convocation ceremony on Thursday afternoon...
Processional

Sweet Kelley right there in the middle!
Kelley getting ready to walk across...

I was in and out of the church the whole time because it was a long ceremony and my little guy was not having sitting still and quiet for that long. Luckily there were many other kids and parents/grandparents doing the same thing. :)
That big smile from my father-in-law is because he is almost done paying for all of his kids' tuition! :) He was definitely happy about that! {only Kelley's DNP schooling is left!}
 Evidence that it was almost 5pm and Mills had not had a nap.
no way, a smile is not happenin'

Jennifer came in town later that night and we all went to High Cotton for a celebratory dinner. Graduation was on Friday morning.
If you look reallllllly closely you can see Darius Rucker {aka Hootie!} was the speaker...just love him.
Kelley graduating!
Unfortunately this is where the pictures end because I had my original lens with me {not my fav 50mm} since I knew I would need the option to zoom in/out - and it was giving me fits! {of course it totally stopped working on Saturday morning - AT the baby shower, SO stinkin' mad!}
Anywho, so Nicholas had Friday off so he was able to go with us, too! After Kelley walked across the stage, Jennifer, Nicholas, Mills and I walked on down to Hominy Grill to put our name down for a table.  It took foreverrrr for everyone to graduate {med school, pt school, pharmacy, mha, etc} so by the time they finished we were already seated and ready to go! Mimosas and breakfast/lunch for everyone - woohoo!
My in-laws headed out on Saturday morning, we had a showing at our house, AND we threw a baby shower brunch for our sweet friend, Liz! Can you say hectic morning?!? :) But it was so much fun! I will have to get some pictures from Liz's mom so I can do a post on the baby shower - and I will also have to get Katie's creme brulee french toast recipe - out of this world!!! :)  I made PW's Strawberry Shortcake Cake - oh my deliciousness! Try it - you will never need to buy a cake from a bakery again! {I used two round cake pans instead of one and cutting it, worked perfectly} It is time-consuming...but totally worth it! And hello....strawberries...healthy! {ha...haha}

I'll announce the winner of the rug tomorrow, friends!

preppy plates

I'm loving these cute little babies from Zulily today:
 {look, Cousin Peyton - this one has your name on it! :)}

Mills will be dining on this madras set once it arrives...
And they have tons more choices HERE on Zulily!

OMG, and if you need something to eat on these precious plates, go here and get Pioneer Woman's quick Shrimp Scampi recipe...I made it for the first time last night and it was out-of-this-world AMAZING!!!  I used a whole small onion instead of half {b/c I didn't want to waste it} and garnished with fresh chopped basil {Publix was out of fresh parsley to go along with it} but it was literally perfect in every way.  I used light butter and whole wheat angel hair noodles, too. AND, shrimp was on sale - can't beat that! I also added a little cajun seasoning, too, because we like things spicy around here. Seriously, make this - I will be making it again soon! My sister-in-law came over for dinner and afterwards she asked me to make it for her birthday dinner...which is in November, haha! :)  It's that good.

Beach Day

{Blogger was down when I tried to post last night, boo!}

Last week, Kathy and Will came down for the day and we had so much fun with the boys at the beach!
The key to a beach day is lots of snacks and juice/water! :) ...At least for Mills!
Hehe, just snacking away...

And look at cute Will! With him, clothing is optional, haha! The swimsuit didn't last more than a minute or two and he kept trying to strip on down - uh-oh, Kath...do we have a streaker on our hands?!?  ;)
{"we're going streaking...through the quad!!!}

 sweet boys
precious little beach bum!
crazy kiddo running for the waves, sippy cup in mouth!
 cutie pies!
 buddies!
We had so much fun! Plus, Folly is WAY better on weekdays than on the weekend - so much easier, especially with kids! We did miss seeing sweet Riley girl, but hopefully we'll see her soon! We were hoping to head up there this week but we didn't want to share Mills' cold with everyone. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Mohawk Giveaway

{the company, not the hairstyle...just to clarify...wink wink}

Mohawk has teamed up with one of my favs - Target - to offer some beautiful products! Specifically, their baby/children's rugs are so cute! I was so excited when Mohawk contacted me about reviewing one of their products and hosting this awesome giveaway.

You can check out the six different rugs here, as they are currently exclusively available on target.com, but will be in stores beginning in July. Since I already have a rug in Mills' room, I wanted to pick one that was gender neutral, for use in a playroom in our new house! However, I wanted to show you that this great rug even looks fabulous in Mills room - it blends with all of the colors and is so fun!
I chose the Mohawk Neutral Dot Rug in Blue & Green, in the 60 x 84 size.
It's so plush and Mills loved running back and forth on it, haha!
Isn't it cute???
Plus, here are some additional details about these Mohawk rugs you may not have known:
-They are made with a new technology in yarn that is very soft to the touch, perfect for a baby or childs room.
-Latex backing provides non skid surface for all hard surfaces or it works great to keep the rug in place on carpet.
-Made from 100% Nylon. Nylon rugs are easy to take care of, they spot clean easily but you can also wash the 40"x60" size in a front load commercial washer
-Made in the USA {we're a big fan of "made in the USA" around here!}

Are you ready for the good news??
YOU can win one of these beauties! :) You can choose from two sizes and any of the adorable patterns made to match perfectly in your nursery, kid's room, or playroom.

How???
Well I'm glad you asked!

1) Go to Mohawk's facebook page and "like" them - this is the mandatory entry. Leave a comment letting me know you did so!
2)  Write something/anything on their wall saying hello and letting them know you entered this giveaway...for example, "Hey, I'm Cool McCoolPants and I just entered the giveaway on the Wallace Word! Love your rugs!" You get TWO entries for doing this, so then leave me two more comments letting me know you did this.
3) Follow Mohawk Home on Twitter. Again, let me know this via comment.
4) And lastly, become a follower of my blog or let me know you already are one!

This means you could have a total of FIVE entries...get outta town, right?!?
Again, I know this is redundant, but please make sure you leave a separate comment for each entry so that every entry will be counted when I use random.org to find our winner!
You have one week to enter the contest - it will close next Wednesday, May 18th, at midnight!

You will LOVE these seriously adorable and very affordable Mohawk rugs!

Mother's Day!

Hope all of you other mommas out there had a wonderful day yesterday!
Thankfully, I got to spend mine with my amazing mom and sweet grandmother, too! :)
Nicholas cooked us all breakfast before they had to get on the road home!
{disclaimer: no makeup in this photo - don't kill me Mom and MaMa!}
{to be fair, here's a disgusting one of myself, too!}
Star of the Mother's Day Show! :)

We even got in on some multi-generational morning massages {say that 10 times fast}! :)
{image via Nicholas' cell}

 We had hoped to go to church, but Nicholas and Mills were both sick with a cold, so we decided not to infest everyone else! {today I can't breathe...germs passed? check.}
My boys laid around all morning...so I did the same!
However, later in the afternoon, we finally woke Mills up from the longest nap EVER so we could go get some lunch at Taco Boy @Folly Beach.
My Millsy and I...with the flowers that my sweet father-in-law sent me for Mother's Day!!! :)
A margarita with the munchkin...followed by some time right here...
It was an easy-going, carefree, and HAPPY Mother's Day!

Check back for a giveaway tomorrow, friends! :)

Easter Fun

So here was my sweet Millsy this time last year:
{here's the post}

Last year Mills turned three months old on Easter...and this year...
what
a
 big
boy!

We went up to the upstate to see my family, and we had so much fun at the church Easter egg hunt on Saturday!
It was held way out in the country, and it was the PERFECT spot for all of the kiddos!
Mills had a blast - I'll let the pictures do most of the talking! :)
"Look at me, look at me...I found an egg!!!!!!!"
 "Oooooh, I see another one!!!"
"I'm so good at this, Mom!"  :)
His crowd of onlookers (plus aunt myra!)
 Eggs galore for the wee ones!
Love this family picture!
Of course...making the moves on a lady friend's basket...
Too bad Mills isn't old enough to eat the candy...Mommy and Daddy had to confiscate that... ;)
"Man, this kid's smart...he brought a BIG basket!"
SO fun!

We also enjoyed some time playing with cousin Peyton, hanging out with the fam, and of course, riding our 4-wheeler on the endless land at Gammy and Philly's house... {a little bigger than our yard here in Charleston}
{love the new haircut, Peytie!}
 look at the country boy!
Preppy yet country... :)
Sporting his Daddy's alma mater on his chest! :)
Again, picture overload...b/c I'm too tired to pick just a few! :)
 Mills thought it was hilarious to push the 4-wheeler, too!
And of course the golf clubs came out...what is a day without playing with our golf clubs?!?
{he IS is Pappy's grandson, for sure!}
 Peyton's pretty good, too!

And on Easter morning...wouldn't you know...the Easter Bunny came all the way to Gammy and Philly's house to leave a surprise for Mills!
Clearly it is necessary to ride the 4-wheeler all of 10 feet to see what the Easter Bunny brought us! :)
Yum yum, some squeeze food..."Mom, can I have this now???" :)
Easter 2011 Family Pic!
And with Gammy, too!
We tried to get some more family pictures...but I have a little bit of a momma's boy on my hands...what do you think??
It's okay...
I'll take the lovin' any day! :)

Hope you had a wonderful Easter with your families as well! Sorry it's so belated, but now that I'm all caught up I have lots of fun things coming up in the blog world! :)
